# Fonts

> Brand font families on the Fonts tab

# Fonts

The **Fonts** tab lists the typefaces your brand uses. Families added here customise typography styles and call-to-action text so type stays consistent across the kit.

Open Fonts after you settle [Colours](/brands/colours), or whenever a brand adopts a new Google Font or system stack.

## Add font families

Add families used by the brand:

* **Default / system** stacks (Arial, Georgia, and other web-safe options offered in the UI)
* **Google Fonts** — searchable picker; CSS URL stored for preview

Font cards show the family name and a sample. [Typography](/brands/typography) styles reference these families when you pick a default or custom font for a text style.

## Tips

* After [Add from URL](/brands/add-from-url), confirm seeded fonts match the live site — extraction can miss fonts loaded only by JavaScript.
* Keep the set small: primary and secondary families are usually enough for a clear kit.
* Update Fonts before editing typography styles so the right families appear in the style picker.
